Morning Remembrance
أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Transliteration
Asbahna wa asbahal-mulku lillah, walhamdu lillah, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer.
Meaning
We have reached the morning and at this very time the whole kingdom belongs to Allah. All praise is due to Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone, without any partner.
Evening Remembrance
أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Transliteration
Amsayna wa amsal-mulku lillah, walhamdu lillah, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer.
Meaning
We have reached the evening and at this very time the whole kingdom belongs to Allah. All praise is due to Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone, without any partner.
Ayatul Kursi (Protection)
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ
Transliteration
Allahu la ilaha illa huwa, Al-Hayyul-Qayyum. La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm. Lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-ard...
Meaning
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.
Morning/Evening Protection (3x)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Transliteration
Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa huwas-Sami'ul-'Aleem.
Meaning
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Rizq & Wealth
Ask Allah for halal provision, barakah, and financial ease
Dua for Sufficient Halal Rizq
اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
Transliteration
Allahumma-kfini bi halalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bi fadlika 'amman siwak.
Meaning
O Allah, suffice me with what You have allowed instead of what You have forbidden, and make me independent of all others besides You.
Istighfar for Abundance
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيَّ الْقَيُّومَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Transliteration
Astaghfirullahal-'Adheemal-ladhi la ilaha illa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyum wa atubu ilayh.
Meaning
I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Magnificent, whom there is no deity but Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I repent to Him.
Dua of Musa (Moses) for Good
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
Transliteration
Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeer.
Meaning
My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.
Dua for Barakah (Blessing) in Wealth
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا رَزَقْتَنِي
Transliteration
Allahumma barik li fima razaqtani.
Meaning
O Allah, bless me in what You have provided for me.

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Transliteration
Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a'yun, waj'alna lil-muttaqeena imama.
Meaning
Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes, and make us leaders of the righteous.
Dua Before Getting Married
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ
Transliteration
Allahumma inni as'aluka khayraha wa khayra ma jabaltaha 'alayh, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma jabaltaha 'alayh.
Meaning
O Allah, I ask You for the good in her and the good that You have made her inclined towards. And I seek refuge in You from the evil in her and the evil You have made her inclined towards.
Istikhara (Seeking Guidance)
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ
Transliteration
Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi 'ilmik, wa astaqdiruka bi qudratik, wa as'aluka min fadlikal-'adheem.
Meaning
O Allah, I seek Your guidance through Your knowledge, and I seek ability through Your power, and I ask You from Your immense bounty.

Dua of Ibrahim for Righteous Children
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Transliteration
Rabbi hab li minas-saliheen.
Meaning
My Lord, grant me (a child) from among the righteous.
Dua of Zakariya for a Child
رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِي فَرْدًا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ
Transliteration
Rabbi la tadharnee fardan wa anta khayrul-waritheen.
Meaning
My Lord, do not leave me alone (without an heir), and You are the best of inheritors.
Dua for Children to be Steadfast in Prayer
رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ
Transliteration
Rabbij-'alni muqeemas-salati wa min dhurriyyati, Rabbana wa taqabbal du'a.
Meaning
My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and (many) from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.
Protection for Children
أُعِيذُكُمَا بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
Transliteration
U'idhukuma bi kalimatillahit-tammah, min kulli shaytanin wa hammah, wa min kulli 'aynin lammah.
Meaning
I seek refuge for you both in the perfect words of Allah, from every devil and every poisonous creature, and from every envious evil eye.

Dua for Increase in Knowledge
رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
Transliteration
Rabbi zidni 'ilma.
Meaning
My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
Dua of Musa for Ease & Clarity
رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي، وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي، وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِنْ لِسَانِي، يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
Transliteration
Rabbish-rahli sadri, wa yassir li amri, wahlul 'uqdatan min lisani, yafqahu qawli.
Meaning
My Lord, expand my chest, ease my task for me, and remove the impediment from my speech so they may understand what I say.
Dua When Studying
اللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنِي، وَعَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي، وَزِدْنِي عِلْمًا
Transliteration
Allahum-ma-nfa'ni bima 'allamtani, wa 'allimni ma yanfa'uni, wa zidni 'ilma.
Meaning
O Allah, benefit me with what You have taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge.
Dua for Easy Understanding
اللَّهُمَّ لَا سَهْلَ إِلَّا مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلًا، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلًا
Transliteration
Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'altahu sahla, wa anta taj'alul-hazna idha shi'ta sahla.
Meaning
O Allah, there is no ease except in that which You have made easy, and You make difficulty easy if it be Your Will.

Dua of Yunus (Jonah) in Distress
لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Transliteration
La ilaha illa anta, subhanaka, inni kuntu minaz-zalimeen.
Meaning
There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
Dua for Anxiety & Sorrow
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ، وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ
Transliteration
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wal-'ajzi wal-kasal, wal-bukhli wal-jubn, wa dala'id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal.
Meaning
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from weakness and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from being overcome by debt and overpowered by people.
When Overwhelmed
حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Transliteration
Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal-wakeel.
Meaning
Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
Dua for Relief & Patience
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ، اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَأَخْلِفْ لِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا
Transliteration
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Allahumma'jurni fi musibati wa akhlif li khayran minha.
Meaning
We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. O Allah, reward me for my affliction and replace it with something better.
Parents & Elders

Dua for Parents (from Quran)
رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Transliteration
Rabbir-hamhuma kama rabbayani sagheera.
Meaning
My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small.
Dua for Parents' Forgiveness
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
Transliteration
Rabbana-ghfir li wa liwalidayya wa lil-mu'mineena yawma yaqumul-hisab.
Meaning
Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day the account is established.
Dua for Deceased Parents
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ، وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ
Transliteration
Allahumma-ghfir lahu warhamhu wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu wa wassi' mudkhalah.
Meaning
O Allah, forgive them and have mercy on them, give them health and pardon them, honor their reception and make their entrance wide.
Forgiveness & Repentance
Seeking Allah's forgiveness and mercy
Sayyidul Istighfar (Master of Forgiveness)
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Transliteration
Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduk, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika masta-ta't. A'udhu bika min sharri ma sana't, abu'u laka bi ni'matika 'alayya wa abu'u laka bi dhanbi, faghfir li fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa ant.
Meaning
O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I keep my covenant with You as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me and I confess my sins to You. So forgive me, for none can forgive sins except You.
Simple but Powerful Istighfar
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Transliteration
Astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilayh.
Meaning
I seek Allah's forgiveness and I repent to Him.
Comprehensive Dua for Forgiveness
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Transliteration
Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakunnana minal-khasireen.
Meaning
Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ، اشْفِهِ وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Transliteration
Allahumma Rabban-nas, adhhibil-ba's, ishfihi wa antash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uk, shifa'an la yughadiru saqama.
Meaning
O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm, heal him/her for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no disease behind.
Visiting the Sick (7x)
أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ، رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، أَنْ يَشْفِيَكَ
Transliteration
As'alullaha-l'Adheema, Rabbal-'Arshil-'Adheem, an yashfiyak.
Meaning
I ask Allah the Magnificent, Lord of the Magnificent Throne, to heal you.
Dua for Good Health
اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي
Transliteration
Allahumma 'afini fi badani, Allahumma 'afini fi sam'i, Allahumma 'afini fi basari.
Meaning
O Allah, grant me health in my body. O Allah, grant me health in my hearing. O Allah, grant me health in my sight.

Before Eating
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ
Transliteration
Bismillah.
Meaning
In the name of Allah.
After Eating
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَٰذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ
Transliteration
Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi at'amani hadha wa razaqanihi min ghayri hawlin minni wa la quwwah.
Meaning
All praise is due to Allah who fed me this and provided it for me without any might or power on my part.
Before Sleeping
بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا
Transliteration
Bismika Allahumma amutu wa ahya.
Meaning
In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.
Upon Waking Up
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Transliteration
Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur.
Meaning
All praise is due to Allah who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.
Leaving Home
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
Transliteration
Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
Meaning
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah.
Starting a Journey
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ
Transliteration
Subhanal-ladhi sakh-khara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrineen, wa inna ila Rabbina lamunqalibun.
Meaning
Glory be to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it by our efforts, and to our Lord we shall return.
Entering the Bathroom
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
Transliteration
Bismillah, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubthi wal-khaba'ith.
Meaning
In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from evil spirits.
Entering the Masjid
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
Transliteration
Allahumma-ftah li abwaba rahmatik.
Meaning
O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.
💡 Tips for Making Dua
Begin with praising Allah and sending blessings on the Prophet ﷺ
Be sincere and have certainty that Allah will respond
Best times: last third of night, between adhan & iqamah, while fasting, on Friday
Face the Qibla if possible and raise your hands
Repeat your dua 3 times and say "Ameen" at the end
Don't rush — be patient and persistent in your duas
