Chapter 25 · The Criterion · Juz 19
وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًۭا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًۭا
Wa 'ibaadur Rahmaanil lazeena yamshoona 'alal ardi hawnanw wa izaa khaata bahumul jaahiloona qaaloo salaamaa
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,
Quran 25:63 — Surah Al-Furqan
This is verse 63 of 77 in Surah Al-Furqan (الفرقان), meaning “The Criterion”. It is a Meccan surah — revealed in Makkah before the Hijrah. This verse is located in Juz 19 (Part 19) of the Quran.

Wa 'ibaadur Rahmaanil lazeena yamshoona 'alal ardi hawnanw wa izaa khaata bahumul jaahiloona qaaloo salaamaa
تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًۭا وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا سِرَٰجًۭا وَقَمَرًۭا مُّنِيرًۭا
Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةًۭ لِّمَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُورًۭا
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.
وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًۭا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًۭا
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًۭا وَقِيَٰمًۭا
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;
