Chapter 23 · The Believers · Juz 18
قَٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا ۖ لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Qaala il labistum illaa qaleelal law annakum kuntum ta'lamoon
He will say, "You stayed not but a little - if only you had known.
Quran 23:114 — Surah Al-Muminun
This is verse 114 of 118 in Surah Al-Muminun (المؤمنون), meaning “The Believers”. It is a Meccan surah — revealed in Makkah before the Hijrah. This verse is located in Juz 18 (Part 18) of the Quran.

Qaala il labistum illaa qaleelal law annakum kuntum ta'lamoon
قَٰلَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ
[Allah] will say, "How long did you remain on earth in number of years?"
قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍۢ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ
They will say, "We remained a day or part of a day; ask those who enumerate."
قَٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا ۖ لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
He will say, "You stayed not but a little - if only you had known.
أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ عَبَثًۭا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?"
فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
So exalted is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth; there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne.
