How to Make Wudu

Make intention in your heart to perform wudu for the sake of Allah. You don't need to say it out loud.

💡 The intention is in your heart, not on your tongue.

Say "Bismillah" (In the name of Allah) before starting. This is Sunnah and recommended.

💡 Say it softly or in your heart.

Wash both hands up to the wrists 3 times. Make sure water reaches between fingers.

💡 Start with the right hand, then left. Interlace fingers to clean between them.

Take water into your mouth with your right hand and rinse thoroughly 3 times.

💡 Swirl water around entire mouth. Use miswak/toothbrush before wudu for best practice.

Sniff water into your nose with right hand, then blow it out with left hand 3 times.

💡 Don't sniff too hard. Use left hand to clean/blow out.

Wash your entire face 3 times - from hairline to chin, and from ear to ear.

💡 Make sure water reaches every part including edges of face and eyebrows.

Wash right arm from fingertips to elbow 3 times, then left arm 3 times.

💡 Include the elbow. Rotate arm to ensure full coverage.

Wipe your head with wet hands - from forehead to back of head, then back to front. Once is sufficient.

💡 Use both hands together. Just wipe, don't wash with lots of water.

Wipe inside of ears with index fingers and behind ears with thumbs.

💡 Use the same water from wiping the head. Once is enough.

Wash right foot up to and including the ankle 3 times, then left foot 3 times.

💡 Use left hand to wash feet. Make sure water reaches between toes and all around ankles.
